Morgandell Borzoi and Silken Windhounds
Morgandell Borzoi was founded in the seventies as a small hobby kennel dedicated to
Borzoi. Bill and Cyndi met at the 1986 Nationals in Olympia Washington and so 20 years
later when we both found ourselves single, it was decided to pool our resources. Cyndi joined
Bill and his Auburn Borzoi in the Sierra foothills in 2004. We are just a hop over the hill from
The last Morgandell Borzoi litter was whelped in Washington before the move to California.
Two of those, CJ and Kennedy came to California to stay. Both have now traveled back to the
state where they were whelped.
Silken Windhounds had already captured Cyndi's attention in 2003 after meeting a few of
Chris Swilley's youngsters in Minnesota.
Attending my first LGRA meet in California, the Silken's were everywhere! And the love was
born or at least the wheels started to turn. Linda Schneider introduced
Cyndi to Joyce Chin's Gideon that day. Joyce was home whelping a new litter sired by this
remarkable dog. Gideon sparked my imagination and convinced me that a Silken in our
future was not far off. Had this "feeling" been discussed with Bill in advance, RLynn's boy
Evan, would have made his new home at Morgandell.
We do still adore our Zoi, but the Silkens have found a home here.
